Greene County Jail Roster Overview
The official county inmate records channel is the JailTracker public roster linked from the Greene County Prison page. The county tells users to click the Inmate Lookup logo and search by name or identification number. It also warns that the locator will not function properly with Internet Explorer and recommends Chrome or Edge. That browser note is important because the roster is a dynamic Public Safety Cloud/JailTracker application that can show loading screens and CAPTCHA prompts.
Greene County Prison is the county correctional facility, not the sheriff’s warrant page and not the state prison. It holds people arrested in Greene County before arraignment, pretrial detainees committed by a Magisterial District Judge, county-sentenced inmates, work-release and weekend-sentence participants, and people waiting for release or transfer. The jail roster is the right place for those local records. SCI Greene is searched through PA DOC. Federal and immigration custody use BOP or ICE.
Use the Greene County Inmate Roster
Start from the county prison page instead of copied third-party roster pages. The county source links the lookup, JailATM, CIDNET, VINE, visitation, mail, Central Booking, bail, work release, and prison policies in one place. A new arrest may not appear instantly because arrest, booking, fingerprinting, arraignment, and court docket creation are separate events.
- Open the official Greene County Prison page and use its Inmate Lookup link to reach JailTracker.
- Use Chrome or Edge. If JailTracker presents a CAPTCHA, enter the code or request a new code.
- Search by last name, first name, or identification number when known.
- Open the profile if available and compare charges, case fields, holds, bond, court information, and release fields.
- If no record appears, check VINE, call the prison, search UJS, or use PA DOC, BOP, and ICE based on custody type.
The official Greene County Prison page screenshot captures the local source that links the roster, deposits, VINE, visitation, mail, and Central Booking information.
That source page should be treated as the county’s own routing page for jail records and related custody services.
Greene County Roster Search Fields
Research could not open a live inmate profile through static tools because JailTracker is a WebAssembly app with interactive gating. The compiled client strings still exposed the search fields below, and the county page confirms that name or identification-number search is supported. Treat required-field status carefully because the rendered county settings may control which fields are mandatory.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Type of Search | Dropdown | Unspecified | Exposed as searchType; exact options were not visible in static tools. |
| First Name | Text | Unspecified | Useful with common last names. |
| Last Name | Text | Unspecified | County page says search by name. |
| Released in Last | Text or numeric | Optional or unspecified | Suggests a recent-release search by number of days if enabled. |
| CAPTCHA code | Image and text validation | Required when displayed | Client exposes Get New Code, Validate, and incorrect-code messages. |
| Identification number | Text | Unspecified | The county page says ID-number search is available. |
Greene County Inmate Profile Fields
JailTracker is configured to support many inmate record fields, but public display can depend on county settings and the case stage. The field inventory below should be read as fields the official client supports, not a promise that every public profile will show every item. Booking charges may differ from formal court charges after the District Attorney files or amends the case.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Offender Image | Booking photo route exists; live Greene County display should be verified in the rendered profile. |
| Name fields | First, middle, and last name search and display data. |
| Booking Number / Jacket | Identifier fields that may help locate the exact booking. |
| Original Book DateTime | Intake date and time field. |
| Final Release DateTime | Release timestamp or status field when populated. |
| Charges and Cases | Charge description, arrest code, status, case number, court type, counts, and related case fields. |
| Holds | Hold type, date, expiration, and reason, which may block release. |
| Bond fields | Bond type, bond amount, and fine amount when available. |
| VINE link | Route fields for custody notification through VINE. |
Greene County Records Access Chain
A complete Greene County inmate records search uses more than one channel. The online roster is first for current local custody. The prison phone line is the practical fallback for custody, bail, mail, visits, or deposit questions not answered online. In-person administrative questions use Greene County Prison during business hours. Written records requests go through the county Open Records Officer when the roster does not show a booking record, photo, or historical detail.

- Written request: Jeffrey A. Marshall, Open Records Officer, 93 E. High St., Waynesburg, PA 15370, email jmarshall@greenecountypa.gov, fax 724-627-5428.
- Court charges: UJS Case Search for docket and charge status after filing.

VINE is not a replacement for the jail record, but it is useful when the key need is a custody-status alert.
County State Federal Inmate Search
Greene County jail records cover local detention. State-sentenced custody uses PA DOC. BOP and ICE have separate locators and do not show routine county jail detainees. A detainer can also make a roster record confusing because the person may have county bail but still cannot be released due to another agency’s hold.
| Custody | Where to Look | Use This When |
|---|---|---|
| Pretrial or county sentence | Greene County JailTracker | The person was recently arrested or held at Greene County Prison. |
| State prison or parole | PA DOC locator | The person has a state sentence or parole status. |
| Federal custody | BOP inmate locator | The person is in BOP custody from 1982 to present. |
| Immigration detention | ICE detainee locator | The issue is immigration custody, not county jail booking. |
Greene County Jail Facilities
Only one active county jail page is needed for Greene County: Greene County Prison. SCI Greene has a separate facility page because it is a state prison in the county. No active municipal detention roster, BOP prison, or ICE detention facility inside Greene County was located in official sources.

Booking Process in Greene County
Greene County Prison contains the Central Booking Center. The county page states that people charged with crimes are held until arraignment by a Magisterial District Justice, photographed, fingerprinted, and then either committed to Greene County Prison or released. Pennsylvania’s mandatory fingerprinting law, 18 Pa.C.S. Section 9112, requires qualifying arrest fingerprints to be taken and sent to the central repository within the statutory time frame.
Booking also ties into phone, account, and visitation systems. Cash held at commitment is credited to the inmate account, CIDNET handles phone and video communication, and the person receives visitation information through orientation materials. If the booking record is not public online, the county Right-to-Know process is the documented fallback.
Greene County Visitation Rules
Greene County Prison uses video visitation and CIDNET account registration. All video visits must be prescheduled. County rules say visits are recorded in both audio and video, the inmate must enter a phone PIN to begin, and prior Greene County Prison inmates are not approved for visits unless they have written warden permission or at least six months have passed since last incarceration.
| Visit Type | Schedule / Rule | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Remote video visiting | 8:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m. | Monday-Friday, including holidays. |
| On-site video visiting | 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. | Monday-Friday, including holidays. |
| Registration | Report M-F, 0800-1600 | Request video visitation account registration at the facility. |
| Special visits | Written request | Warden or Deputy Warden approval for extraordinary circumstances. |
Contact and Money for Inmates
Mail to Greene County Prison must include the inmate’s name and the facility return address. Incoming mail and publications are opened and inspected for contraband by the Shift Commander. Letters, cards, photos, postcards, and envelopes are photocopied on the next business day, and the inmate receives the copy while originals are placed in personal property. Cash, checks, and money orders in mail are not accepted and are returned to sender.
| Service | Provider / Detail | Limit or Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Phone / video | CIDNET | Used for accounts and video visitation. |
| Online deposits | JailATM | Depositor limit is $300 per week. |
| Lobby kiosk | Cash, debit, or credit kiosk | Depositor limit is $300 per week. |
| Commissary spend | Ordered by phone using PIN | Inmates may spend no more than $100 per week. |
Note: Confirm custody in JailTracker or by phone before sending money because release, transfer, or holds can change quickly.
